Just yesterday, a friend of mine posted something similar, and a commenter said that playing the race card is no longer acceptable. To which, I wondered aloud what rock he's been living under. Only now, no one says it except for amidst certain company. Sad . . .
We live in a nation still haunted by superstitions of many kinds.
I love how you pulled it into a few words.

A lot more words, similar sentiment, different demographic, wonderful post.
I guess some people need their MENTAL health care reformed.
I like your label. Clean and simple.
My Man is pretty brown. I try to listen to him as little as possible. Shit, I think I'm rascist.
:)
I wouldnt waste my time watching the speech and Im grateful my five year old doesnt start school till tomorrow. "I expect great things from each of you". Don't tell my kid that. That's my job as a parent. Not Obama's. Overly creepy.
I'm beginning to think that evolution doesn't work. I mean the percentage of morons per capita seems to be skyrocketing in the States. I suppose, though, that maybe being a moron represent fitness in terms of evolution. Scary.
The best part of this letter is that it uses small words, so they're more likely to understand it.
Cheekofgod, Obama was portrayed as The Other right from the start, and his skin color helped make that point. Glenn Beck fans and other Town Hall nuts ask "Where is my country?" referring to the growing Socialism or Communism or Nazism, but really, the answer is much simpler than that.
Jeaux, Black Man has been after these people's women and children for many years--and he almost got them yesterday. Thank God they had the sense to stop their kids from coming to school.
Xbox, I left a comment for her. I love that statement from the Republican Congressman in Florida, warning people not to send their kids to school because Obama will indoctrinate American's children. Even CNN had to add the embarrassing [sic].
SJ, with Obama's evil mind control they won't have any use for their brains.
Ellie, maybe you're just racist-ish.
Lirun, (:-<--3<
Kali, I don't find it creepy to listen to the President give an inspirational message to school children. Young kids and teenagers won't find it creepy too unless they've been indoctrinated to hate. And sifting through the speech to find the sentence that offends you sounds more like an excuse to justify that hatred.
Freeman, I still believe they're the loud minority. The fact that the Republican Party voted for McCain shows they wanted to get away from the Bush insanity. He never understood that, so he moved to the nuts on the right and lost the election. But I do believe most of the Republicans still consider Palin a bad joke, and if they object to Obama it's because of ideological reasons rather than because he's a Nazi or because he tells their kids to study hard.
Faiqa, they understand small words, but only in CAPITAL LETTERS!!!
Yeah. That message about staying in school...
SJ - Is reforming one's mental health an option? Because I could probably use some of that myself...
looks like someone doing chin ups - not pretty
Oh. I was going for nude sunbathing.
What?! People are pulling their kids out of school because the President is going to address the kids?
What on earth is going on over there on that side of the ocean. Has everyone gone nuts?!
Personally, I thought the guy who bit off a guy's finger at a town hall was pretty cool. I mean, no one can say he's not passionate right? he might be crazy, but don't say he lacks passion :)
A little disappointed that the senate committee nixed the plans w/ public options. I'm a big supporter of the public option.
Blues, they did. Because the President is an evil Communist. What, you don't know ANYTHING?
Sebastien, the finger-biter story is funny. The bitee was interviewed and said that he was annoyed by the biter's pro-health-care-reform sign, so he punched him in the face twice. The second punch landed inside the guy's mouth. And the rest is history.
