But who cares what I have to say? Here's what they say about "That one" on Free Republic:
It was an appropriate assertion. I liked it.
Yes! Obama has a name it's HUSSEIN! But we have been told to not use that name!
I would have called him something else. I guess “that one” works.
We just refer to him as “it”.
I think until he furnishes his legitimate birth certificate, “That one” is quite appropriate.
He should have said shithead.
And that's about it. Here's a quote from a reader at the National Review Online blog, The Corner:
Well I have gone outside and pulled up my Mcain/Palin sign. This election is over. I will vote for Mcain but I know that come Nov. 5 Obama will be our president-elect.
I feel sorry for Sarah Palin. A once promising career will be permanently connected to the landside loss of John McCain.
I weep for my children and their families.
Have a good night, y'all.

That guy should weep for the veep-who-never-was.
Go Hussein! :)
Johnny Mac's gone off the reservation. He's wandering into Reagan circa 1987 when his brain was sort of cottony. I'm beginning to think that we may pull this one off despite ourselves. Pinch me.
This kind of talk worries me so much. The first-time voting "slackers" finally made to care, who are supposed to be Obama's bread-and-butter, don't need any encouragement to decide they aren't needed in the voting booth.
Obama needs as big a win as possible to help get as many like-minded friends in Congress as possible, and to support his plans to turn this ship around. If he gets a Bush-like victory, we'll all be just as screwed.
God forbid enough people don't vote to allow McCain to win (shudder)
Anyway, I wanted to note that when my mother-in-law says "that one" (I thought she had invented the phrase) she indeed means "that asshole" or something along those lines.
SJ, I hope next time you weep for any reason, you dedicate some of your tears to that guy and to the once promising career of the VP.
Man, I know. It's still strange to imagine Obama winning. Anyway, I just hope Palin sticks around the national scene, maybe to run in 2012. I want to see more interviews.
Dan, you mean it's a Republican trick to stop people from voting? Could be, but I also think potential first time voters are too excited to be persuaded to stay home. I think for many people it's not just about winning anymore, but about taking part in changing the country. And you know what? I'm not afraid to use the word Landslide anymore.
Finding right wingers to be kind of scary in that sociopathic way isn't exactly new to me. But this week they have ratcheted it up so many levels that I find them terrifying. The violence in their rhetoric is increasing and the fact that it's not really being picked up by mainstream media outrage machine is disturbing. I want to see the guy who yelled "kill him" at the Palin rally interviewed, even if it's by Dr. freakin' Phil in the context of anger management pop psychology. These people really ought to be locked up or heavily medicated or just given their own country to go and ruin.
PS. The ALF reference in your last post = brilliant!
I know. It is scary. I think the country will not survive an attack on Obama. That will be it. And making him into a terrorist is definitely not putting country first.
And about Mr. Shumway, more people should respect him and use his full name rather than ALF or "That alien."
I watched the whole thing. McCain did well, but I still prefer Obama's ideas. I wasn't quite sure who is or is not supporting more off shore drilling? I don't support that.
tu no eres para mi McCain (minorities por Obama)
you are not for me McCain
(minorities for Obama)

I've never looked at Free Republic. The comments look similar to several other wingnut blogs I look at occasionally. I don't know why I go there to look; probably for the same reason people stare at a grisly car accident.
Ben, McCain loves offshore drilling. He wants to leave his wife and have sex with offshore drilling. Obama saw that people wanted offshore drilling so now he says he'll support it if it's a part of a more comprehensive policy. So really, they both support it, which is a shame. In the name of bipartisan politics, Obama is giving his supporters a second reason (after voting for protection for phone companies) to see him as nothing more than the lesser of two evils.
Anonymous, hmm, thanks for the link.
Tom, the only problem I have with Free Republic is that since Firefox 2 came with a built-in spell checker, it's not as funny as it used to be. But it's still pretty insane. Even Sean Hannity called them a fringe group. There was a time I was reading Democratic Underground a lot, and they were constantly fighting Free Republic people. Really, both group can be pretty pathetic.
Everything People in the Sun said- ditto.
That's right!
