DAMMIT - you made me get all teary eyed! Warn a girl, will you?! jeez.

You have an amazingly perfect family. Thanks for sharing it with us.

coolness....just coolness.

Ah, that takes me back. You've got yourself a good one there! And congratulations on the blog anniversary.

Happy wee bugger isn't he!

although I suppose we'd all look happier in striped pyjamas, gonna get me some of those.

AND one of those hats.

Well done on the year. A good year too.

Wishful, if I wanted you to cry I would have put a video of him crying. That little guy knows the exact pitch he needs to use to penetrate my brain and make me shake and scream (inside). But he's cool. Most of the time. (And thanks).

Bluestreak, thanks. But you know I could put a video of a tree and it still would have looked cool if I used that song.

Dan, thanks, and thanks. Now, people look at him and ask me how old, and when I say 9 months they say, "Ahhh, that's the perfect age..." Is that true? Is it all downhill from here?

Xbox, he can be a sad bugger too, when he puts his mind to it. Man... I hope I didn't use footage of him wearing striped shirt and striped pants. For some reason that's the worst thing I could do. I bring shame to the house and to the family by dressing him up with two striped articles of clothing!

Oh, and he has two hats in the video--one is his mother's, and the other is his pants. Trousers.

And hopefully you will have your own munchkin soon.

Congrats.

Who was singing? The voice sounded like Lou Reed but the song styling sounded like Tom Waits. Great song whoever it was. (It was probably something well-known and I'm just showing how out of it I am.)

A Free Man said...

Congrats on another year. What a fantastic video as well, love the musical accompaniment, very appropriate!

People in the Sun said...

Tom, it is Lou Reed. It's "Beginning of a Great Adventure" from the New York album, which allmusic.com calls the finest album of Reed's solo career. For some reason it never became a classic like his earlier albums, but it's a great album.

Freeman, thanks. I had other ideas about the video. I was going to take out all of my Liberal books and show them to the camera, and then throw them on the floor next to the baby. But he wasn't going to cooperate, because he doesn't do Post Modern art. Not for free, anyway. So I went with the cut-and-paste.

Thanks pits, that was awesome.

Bluestreak said...

Ok, I´ll give you that, any video with Lou Reed as background music already goes high up on my list of cool. But the kid is cool too.

People in the Sun said...

Cooper, thanks for watching it.

Bluestreak, I guess he's cool, too. Don't tell him, though. He's already disrespectful just because he has a smaller nose than his dad's.

Casey said...

You just made me grab my camera and start filming my kids. I forget to film way too often and I don't want to miss anything.

Cute family!

People in the Sun said...

No no no. You have a cute family. (and thanks).

I couldn't see it. :-( Then again, I'm lucky I can see anything - no phone or internet yet.

Big Ben said...

That was great - taking your baby to a ball game! Get the kid started earlier - NO SOCCER!

metalmom said...

That was a great video. I couldn't watch it without smiling ear to ear.

Happy blog anniversary!

Aimeepalooza said...

This was awesome. Awesome baby, awesome video. Loved it. You made me smile tons!

People in the Sun said...

Jill, take your time. It'll be here when you're ready.

Ben, I'm sorry. But he's going to be the next Maradona.

Metalmom and Aimee, thank you. I'm glad you liked it! (and you know I'm serious because I'm not really an exclamation marks kind of guy).

The last shot with the Rubic's Cube in hand was priceless! Did you ever think that the reward would be this great...you've been blessed :)

People in the Sun said...

Kali, you know, it's much harder than I'd imagined it to be, but you're right about not being able to imagine the reward. I honestly thought I just had to wait until he was five before he'd be any fun or before he'd have a personality.

Glad you liked the video. That last shot takes me by surprise every time I watch the video. I keep forgetting it's there.

Woozie said...

I'm with Ben. No soccer. As a matter of fact, no baseball either. as a young and budding American it is important he know that the only football that matters involves hiking and punting, and anybody who says otherwise is a Communist or a Frenchman.

Cute baby!

People in the Sun said...

Woozie, he will not play football with his hands. Unless he's a goalie. (to be fair, he is one-quarter French).

Liv, thanks!

Happy blog-versary.

And the usual oooh and aaahs at your son.

People in the Sun said...

Hey, the usual oooh and aaahs is all I'm asking for. Thanks.

Ophelia Mourne said...

is that you jazzing it up along to the cute video?

Happy Anniversary of bloggingness

very very cute :o)

People in the Sun said...

That's Lou Reed taking a step away from the wild side. And thanks and thanks.

Jill/Twipply Skwood said...

Oh my gosh, have I mentioned recently what a DOLL that kid is?!?!?!? That is SUCH a cute kid!!!!!!

Quote from my gal - "He's a genius!!!!" (in response to the rubix cube bit at the end) :-)

Oh yeah that is a little step away from the wild side, isn't it????

People in the Sun said...

Jill, I don't know how much of a genius he is. I should mention that I did one side, and all he had to do was finish it. That's the easy part. We're working on him doing the cube with his eyes closed while counting to ten in Mandarin. If he hasn't finished by the time he gets to ten, no dinner.

OMG...what a great vid!!!

Congrats on the cute bambino, beautiful pit and a year of fabulous blogging. ;)

Thanks, Dusty.
