A Blogging Community

blogging communityMerely three months after Bobby tagged me, I'm finally ready.

So what is this thing? Well, Bobby got sick of the profit-oriented direction the blog-world was taking, the ease with which anonymous enemies were created, and the whole John Chow-ism of our society. These are not the eighties, after all, and as much as we create a blog as a platform for our unique thoughts and dreams, none of us would still be here without the feeling there's a community of readers and writers around us.

And while some of us write posts about the intricacies of ear-hair, others actively try to make this whole blogging-thing, this Lord of the Flies experiment in human interaction a meaningful one.

Which brings me to Dan, who asks for our support. He wants to walk 78 miles--who am I to stop him? Please read his post and see what you can do. And if all you can do is wish him luck on his journey, well, that's plenty.

Wow! I almost forgot about this. I guess I kinda gave up on it when hardly anyone participated.

It is the community and friendships that count the most to me. If other people disagree and the money is what matters to them, I cannot change their minds...I had to get over it.

The 1st time I came here, the 1st post I ever read on this blog, was an impeach Bush meme.

I got mad. You see, I used to be a very conservative republican. Since that time, I took it upon myself to learn more about politics...and what Fox news called the "disease of liberalism".

The truth is, I really had no idea what liberalism was, but was against it for no real reason. After learning about it...it turns out I am a liberal in many ways!

I educated myself on politics and am still learning. NOW...I understand about why people want Bush impeached...and I think he should be investigated and tried.

If there were WMD...they should have waited until they had absolute, tangible PROOF, BEFORE they attacked Iraq.

I don't know which democrat I'll be voting for. I only know I will vote for which ever one is the front runner to prevent a republican from taking office.

Really, I am neither a rep. or dem. but this country needs a huge change and I believe a rep. just wont suffice!

Thanks for doing this post!!!!

Hey, thanks for adding me as your friend on Blogcatlog. I also LOVE pit bulls. They're amazing dogs, and it's such a shame they get such a bad reputation. I found my pit bull about 18 months ago outside my gate. I never thought I would ever want a dog that size (she's 40 pounds, which, at the time, seemed gigantic to a woman who only had cats and a chihuahua) but I totally fell in love with her.

Bobby, thanks for doing that in the first place. I don't think too many Republicans care for Bush anymore (other than protect his reputation from people like me because they still see him as being on their side). As much as I don't think much of McCain's honesty and as much as I'm sure Romney is an alien from the planet Hairdo coming to destroy humanity, I have to be encouraged by the fact that the two Republican front runners get the votes on the basis of them running as the Change candidates. Sorry if you didn't quite enjoy your first visit here, though. I wish your first visit was to this post instead. I thought you'd appreciate that one.

Dan, you're welcome. Thanks for doing this. I don't know about my post, though. I think maybe I wasn't clear enough about what you're doing. I hope a few people from here see your post. Good luck, again.

Aimee, first of all, I hope you don't mind I put a link here to your website in case anyone else reads the comments and wants to read your post. I put a link to the original post on StumbleUpon, so hopefully it will get a few more readers. Thanks.

Ms. McWhore, thank you first. I'm about 3 months behind on my email-reading and I just saw you added me a long time ago. So I looked at your website, and it's cool, don't get me wrong, even if I were greeted by that scary picture (is that a naked robot from the future?). The Pit Bulls are beautiful and sweet. Mine used to be in dog fights, so I still need to be careful around the baby (the female is great, but the male one is still a bit weird). But I can't imagine having a smaller dog now.

I'm in total agreement: With Bobby's post and with not reading email for months, i too am way behind these days.

I checked out the site, a noble run, and I hope to make a note of in on my blog ssometime in the future - maybe he should be famous.

Happy birthday!!!!

Happy birthday ( hope ajooja got it right since I am following that lead).

BTW that's a dirty hand.

I post for you and only for you.

Cooper, that would be cool. And it'll make me feel good to know I've helped spread the word.

Aimee, sure. But why is your profile page not there? It would make it easy for random people (like me) to stumble on your blog and maybe stick around. How did I end up reading you? I don't remember.

Ajooja, thanks. Last year I had a great post idea for my thirty-fourth. It went like that: "Happy birthday. Thirty-four, and there's so much more." But I forgot about it so now I'll have to wait until my forty-fourth to make that clever rhyme.

SJ, thanks. They've really reduced the standards for who can become a hand-model nowadays. Maybe I should become a hand-model? I sure have the face for that.

Neat! I gave Dan blisters too! I think it's a neat way to raise funds for a very worthy cause.

Jenny, it's always good to find a worthy cause. And if I can torture an English guy at the same time, then that's even better.

I have a two-months-old here and I can't imagine anything ever happening to him. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I like the idea behind this. Posted the link today but will have to come up with a post to go with it after work tonight.

Laura, that's cool. Thanks.
