OH LOOK AT HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sweet!!!!!!! Not looking particularly happy with his station in life right at the exact moment the photo was snapped though, is he?
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo sweet!
*C*O*N*G*R*A*T*U*L*A*T*I*O*N*S*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And welcome to the world little Liam!!!!!! I love his name!
Congratulations a thousand times over and welcome to the world little Liam!
I've been wondering (and worried since you were MIA) about your family for days now. I'm so glad you finally posted this beautiful boy. What a wonderful holiday gift.
Also, it's weird because Liam was my second choice of names for a boy! Crazy.
Hey, thanks for checking up on me and all that and sorry it took me a while to acknowledge that. I'm not doing anything all day, but somehow between trying to get the dogs used to the new guy and changing diapers the day ends and I didn't sleep at all and nothing happened. Pretty amazing.
But he's so cute. He smiles when he farts. He gets that from my side of the family.
How great could it be if every time I was hungry or uncomfortable for any reason I could just cry like that? What a life.
And he's changing. He already looks different than he was in the hospital (and very different from that picture above--a 20 minutes old baby).
What else:
Dan and The Other Dan, thanks. Hurrah to the two of you for being first! And he has very big feet, too. The nurse said he was going to be an athlete. I can live with that (as long as he doesn't do the backward baseball hat thing. I can't deal with this shit).
Wishful, I actually went to the doctor with your picture and told him that's what I wanted. You know the picture of you crying naked with your eyes closed? That one.
Tori, thanks for coming out. Hope you stay--there will be other pictures in the future, and this time, they will include his blue eyes!
Sarah, it doesn't matter. No matter how many times I run this I get the same results. When he's in his twenties he will be just the right age to play Cadet Mahoney in the Police Academy remake.
SJ, thanks. Good to see you're back.
Cooper, Honey's mother is here for a couple of days, which means I had six straight hours of sleep last night. It was incredible.
Jill, I can't blame him for being angry. The first thing he sees when he opens his eyes is a bald man who smells like Dunkin' Donuts coffee. He was probably looking for the way back inside when I took the picture.
Christine, luckily it seems like the next time we'll see the sun in Maryland is in March, so he shouldn't worry. By that time I'll get him cool Spiderman sunglasses.
Mel, thanks. The name works in Hebrew as well, so that's perfect. And yes, he was about twenty minutes old at the time. Waiting to be weighed and then to see his mother for the first time.
Jennifer, thanks for thinking about me. It's been crazy. Four nights in the hospital and after that still no time to even put a picture. I'm glad I finally made the time to reply to the comments because it helps maintain my sanity. Now, his middle name is Aaron. Tori Spelling's son is also Liam Aaron. Just one more thing in the world I need to pretend I didn't know.
Daisy, thank you. I am very proud of my Mini Me.
Enemy, thanks. I've had one day of rest. Getting ready for the next sleepless week.
Lirun, baruch hashem.
Simon, that's okay. If I continue posting one picture a week just from his birth day I'll be able to maintain this blog for the next 18 years without writing a single word. Next week: a picture of Liam with some crazy stuff the nurse put in his eyes, taken a few seconds after this picture.
NYCWD, thanks. I think you mentioned me twice on your blog but that's the first time you actually commented here. So thanks times three.
Dave, apparently that's the advantage of having an operation. Honey really hoped to avoid the c-section but in the end there seemed to be no other way. But it does make babies look great.
Monique, thanks.
Woozie, born on Pearl Harbor day... Coincidence?
Ricardo, luckily the family's potato-nose gets a bit smaller each generation.
Ajooja, thanks. He is a cutie.
Durante, thanks. Personally, I'm ready for another one. Bring it on.
Diamond, everyone says I should cherish these moments but I kind of need him to make more sense. Then again, 13 year-old boys don't make much sense either.
he is cute! Wonderful news and I hope that Mom and Dad are well too!
When I left the hospital with my first child, the guy who pushed me out in the wheelchair told me "You know, if I take the baby outta those doors, you cant ever come back and return him." lol At that point I didnt ever think I would want to.. but now that he is a teen... all bets are off!! hehehe
Wishful, hey, you were young, you needed the money... And he told you he was a big Hollywood producer... We've all been there.
Bill, congratulations to you, too. The six hours come when Honey's mom stayed over and took control of diaper-related activities. But Honey will never sleep for six hours again. At least I hope that apple in the Garden of Eden was tasty.
Kate, I don't know. They said infants poop doesn't smell, but our house is pretty stinky. That's misleading advertising. My lawyers have been informed.
Awwww.... he's a cutie pie :) He doesn't look too happy to be out of the mama's belly but I am sure he will adjust. :) Here's to a full night of sleep new papa!
Thanks. He's even better looking now. A mix between Charlie Brown and Don Johnson.
We just looked for a name that works in English and in Hebrew, and Liam actually means two (kind of) opposite things in Hebrew, so it was perfect. But he's not Irish, I'm afraid. Unless he wants to tell people he's Irish.

Congratulations! It's an absolutely incredible experience.
You're lucky if you got 6 hours of sleep!
Congrats again.

Kirsten, thanks. It is a cute name.
Congratulations!
You're probably even more sleep deprived than when you first posted this. And you're probably an old hand at it too. Best wishes for the coming year!
didnt mean to spit
Awwww.... he's a cutie pie :) He doesn't look too happy to be out of the mama's belly but I am sure he will adjust. :) Here's to a full night of sleep new papa!
MS, thanks. How can someone who sleeps 18 hours a day keep me up all night? That's crazy. I don't care, though. He's fun even when he cries.
Lirun, I've failed to shield my newborn from your germs. My first failure as a parent.
Girl, I know, but he should be happy now because he has a monkey friend. He didn't have monkey friends in his mother's belly. To my knowledge.
YES!
this is what I was looking for, great looking chap, congratulations, many months too late of course but hey.
Top Irish name too ;-)
