The Methodist

I don’t think I’m vain just because I Googled my name today. Everyone does that, no?

Thing is, because I have a relatively rare name (at least for this part of the world), most of the time I get the same guy, a software developer with his start-up and routine press releases. But today I found another guy with my name. He was born Dec. 16, 1918 at Chugwater, WY. He was a Methodist.

It’s a strange feeling.

I hope he had a good life. I hope he had everything he had ever wanted. I hope he had a lot of sex and good food. I hope he had people who loved him by his side rather than people who thought they were doing the right thing by sitting by his sick bed for an hour on weekends. I hope he had a favorite book. A favorite movie. A favorite song playing as he died. I hope he smiled a lot and cried a lot and had an effect on the people he’d met.

I don't believe in Heaven, but I hope he's there.

Right one. I believe in a God 51% of the time at most. Someone said that was the key to being a good Jew but I can't recall who.

I am a stickler for my internet privacy. So, I google myself once a month :) And you do find some really odd things...

Ricardo, why do you keep changing your picture?

I don't know... I've met some 52 percenters who weren't great people. Myself, I don't... Well, I believe in Hell and Heaven on Earth and I believe people may try to be better if they think they're being watched, but other than that the burden of proof is on God.

Sharon, I have a Google alert on my name, and it's always that same boring guy. At least he's happy.

Hello, you left a comment for me regarding a creepy tattoo picture, and you made me laugh so hard I peed a little bit. Thank you!

I Google my name every once in a while. Vain? Curious? I think it's the latter, but I also like to check to see if I've been named supreme ruler of the world or some such thing, just in case I didn't get the news.

I have a pretty rare name so it's cool, there are a couple of links, I'm actually on IMDB which surprised me, then I realized my friend included me in the credits of his movie because I lent him some of my art work to use in his flick. Anyways, I thought it was cool being on IMDB.

Ms. Valkyrie, back in College, my English teacher told me my short essay about my father made her cry. Until today I thought it was the best compliment anyone could get. But today I made someone pee (a little bit). Thank you.

Sebastien, no doubt you've made it. You're on IMDB AND 25peeps (surrounding yourself in Ts&As. You're the luckiest man in the world).
